BIPOC Mealshare at Alder Commons
Alder Commons, located in Portland, Oregon, organizes a wonderful initiative that offers free monthly mealshares exclusively for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community members. This event serves as a platform for individuals to come together, learn from one another, and forge meaningful connections, all while enjoying a delicious meal in a communal setting. For this meal share, I collaborated with Vegan food blogger @eatyodestiny. Our combined efforts resulted in the creation of a personalized menu for 15 attendants. By hosting these monthly mealshares, Alder Commons demonstrates its commitment to fostering a sense of community and belonging among BIPOC individuals. It not only provides a warm and welcoming space for people to come together but also offers an opportunity for cultural exchange and culinary exploration.
Alder Commons' commitment to supporting and celebrating the BIPOC community shines through the creation of these free monthly mealshares. By combining the power of food, community, and collaboration, this initiative not only nourishes the body but also feeds the soul, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among BIPOC individuals in Portland.
