  • Our studio is located inside the Board of Trade building located at 310 SW 4th Avenue, Portland Oregon. Suite 400.

    To enter, dial code 966 on the callbox. The door will beep when unlocked. We are on the 4th floor (please note we are by appointment only, meaning class times and open studio).

  • If you’d like! We highly encourage you learn on your own machine whenever possible!

    Please note, as all machines are different we recommend bringing your manual or having a digital download readily available to reference if needed.

  • Wearing masks protects our immunocompromised instructors and fellow students against airborne infections like Covid. It helps keep our communities safer. Thanks for helping us achieve that goal!

  • We get it, life happens!

    If you cancel 3 weeks in advance, you are eligible for a full refund or credit.

    1 week in advance? 50% refund.

    6 days to 48 hours? Class credit

    48 hours or less/no shows? Refund forfeited.

  • Just yourself! Unless otherwise noted, materials for workshops are all included.

    Sew Susty encourages the use of finding sustainable textiles and therefore provides them. If you are interested in purchasing your own fabric, we suggest checking out some second hand retailers like Reclaim It or Scrap PDX.

    As classes can be upwards of 4 hours, we always recommend a snack.

  • Yes! In order to help make our classes more accessible, we offer two discounts for sliding scale.

    Code BACKSTITCH is for those who are in the middle range of the scale and takes 20% off your ticket.

    Code BOBBIN is for those who are on the lower end of the scale and takes 30% off your ticket.

    Please note that this is not a discount for the sake of discount and we ask you be intentional about using these codes when needed.

  • For classes outside of our kids sewing camp, minimum age requirement is 16.

  • Classes are typically 3.5 hours long, with 5-8 participants.

    For our Absolute Beginner classes, the first 30 minutes are lecture style, followed by hands on learning!

    Need a fidget during the lecture? Not to worry! We have a box of assorted fidgets for you to use.

  • Accessibility is a core value at Sew Susty. For this reason, we take the following measures to make the space as accessible as possible.

  • We ask that all participants be updated with the most up to date Covid vaccine.

    Additionally, there is a UV light sanitizer that sanitizes 100 sq feet of space.

    All attendees are required to wear an KN95 mask or better.

    If you don’t have a mask, we can provide one for you!
