TV Appearance-Estrella TV

During my time at the LGBTQ Center Long Beach, I was given the chance to participate in a 30-minute interview on Estrella TV with a fellow colleague. Although the video is no longer available on Estrella TV's website, this experience was incredibly valuable. We seized the opportunity to engage with the Spanish-speaking community, shedding light on important matters concerning the LGBTQ community.

Our intention was to raise awareness about the challenges faced by Queer individuals, particularly those who identify as Brown or of Latino descent. By appearing on this platform, we aimed to provide resources and increased visibility, highlighting the unique struggles and triumphs of Queer, Brown people.

This interview enabled us to openly discuss and address pertinent issues relevant to the LGBTQ community. We shared personal experiences, stories, and insights, creating a space for authentic conversations about topics that are often brushed aside or ignored. Our goal was to bridge the gap between the mainstream Spanish-speaking community and the LGBTQ community, fostering understanding, empathy, and acceptance.

While the video may no longer be accessible, the impact of this interview lies in the foundation it laid for meaningful conversations and connections. We made strides towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for Queer, Brown individuals within the Spanish-speaking community. Our hope is that this interview encouraged dialogue, dispelled stereotypes, and empowered individuals to seek the resources and support they need.

Although the Estrella TV interview may be a distant memory, the ripple effect of our message continues to resonate within the LGBTQ community and beyond. The fight for equality and visibility persists, and we remain committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of all Queer people.
