How my journey began

From an early age, I thought deeply about social justice and the intersection of societal issues and our collective human experience. Particularly with a knack for questioning inequitable practices that I saw around me.

When choosing an area of study, I landed on Community Studies and Sociology (Go Banana Slugs!). This gave me the necessary framework for the work I do today. When looking at campaigns or ideating content, I ask questions about their intention, language, and view its audience from this lens. It is so important to look at marketing language from multiple angles.

How will the person not up to date on trends view this? What about someone struggling to meet their basic needs? Or a person who feels a specific message is not for them? How do we adapt to a changing landscape in communications, human behavior, and the need to unify under a single message? That is where my experience and framework come in. I look at data, sentiment, and resources to help craft the messaging we feel will align best with the work we are doing.

My work spans multiple sectors. I have held cooking meal-shares, trainings for LGBTQ providers, planned community events, filmed short-form videos for brands, and I have been a guest on a podcast and most recently a guest writer for a new magazine. With 8 years’ worth of experience in the non-profit sector followed by 5 in the private sector, my portfolio is diverse. I am happy to discuss your needs during a consult to ideate on ways to get your message across.
